NTUC Foundation on 1 October 2013 donated a transporter to the Singapore Red Cross, in support of its TransportAid service. SRC TransportAid helps the elderly or the disabled from low-income homes get to and from their medical treatments, rehabilitation and day care centres.
SRC was one of six Voluntary Welfare Organisations to receive the donation from NTUC FairPrice Foundation, which has set aside S$1 million for this initiative, which includes the retrofitting of the vans to customised transport vehicles for beneficiaries with limited mobility. The announcement was made at the re-launch of the newly-renovated FairPrice supermarket at Bukit Merah.
