Singapore Red Cross (SRC) celebrated International Volunteer Day on 5 December with a fashion runway show featuring 21 unique couture pieces adapted from original artworks created by residents of the Red Cross Home for Disabled (RCHD). Hundreds of SRC volunteers turned up for the event at Star Vista.
The co-creation idea was conceived by SRC volunteer Kristine Gale Choa, a 21 year-old fashion student. During her visits to RCHD, Kristine saw the artistic potential in the residents’ artwork and was determined to transform these art pieces into visually pleasing couture. A silent auction of the fashion couture was held to raise funds for SRC’s local humanitarian efforts.
This exciting fashion design project honours all SRC’s volunteers, who do what they do best for humanity, every day of their lives.
